About Us
Eighth & Rail is a tribute to the rich industrial history of Los Angeles County, dating back to the late 1940s, a time when gold was the currency of ambition, and the railway running through Newhall served as the main artery between Los Angeles and San Francisco. This era laid the foundation for the Santa Clarita Valley’s growth, shaping the community into what it is today.
But our story goes even further back. In 1878, Derrick’s Saloon was granted the first recorded liquor license in Los Angeles County, marking the beginning of a legacy that now spans over 138 years. That same spirit of history, resilience, and camaraderie lives on at Eighth & Rail.
We invite you to become part of the newest chapter in a very old book, where history meets good company, great drinks, and an unforgettable atmosphere.
